Here’s how the Lucky Peak Reservoir is described in a recent article previewing the 4th annual Ironman 70.3 Boise triathlon:
The two-transition race has its 1.2 mile swim held in the Lucky Peak Lake, located 18 miles southeast of Boise. The single looped swim can be guaranteed to be a wetsuit swim, with the water temperatures expected to be in the neighbourhood of 62 degrees Fahrenheit for Saturday.
I’m going to challenge the neighborhood of 62 degrees. Considering what I experienced today, I’d rather swim in ‘that’ neighborhood. Maybe the writer was talking about a Lucky Peak Reservoir in Arizona? It certainly isn’t the same one I visited today.
Here’s a quick perspective along with a two athletes from Boise. By the way, the guys Dave spoke with in the video below are racing in their very first triathlon.
