hills hills and more hills!

Another week, another race...another hill!! Yesterday I raced a continental cup in New Plymouth, NZL. This was my second time racing here, and both times have been wonderful experiences. The Kiwi's are such friendly people! Their hospitality in incredible!

I came over with the QAS boys and had fun joking around and keeping the atmosphere light before the race..just the way i like it!

The race went really well once again. Totally different, but good just the same! This time I had a good swim coming out 3rd. It was a cold swim but i managed just fine! After T1 i found myself in a small break with 2 Kiwis Andrea Hewitt and Nicky Samuels. We worked pretty well together minus a few attacks against me!! :) I spent the bike ride a little on edge waiting for attacks but had a good solid effort and was ready to test the legs off a hard bike. Oh...I forgot to mention the massive, steep hill that we rode up 6 times with rolling hills throughout the rest of the loop. I got onto the run and felt pretty good again. Not quite like Mooloolaba but got close as i warmed up into it. I felt really smooth again. Another great day at the office! Oh and girls won the battle against the boys!! 4 girls in before Bevan crossed the line!! (they may have been a bit generous ;)

Another fun weekend under the belt! The Aussie and Kiwi athletes are on break for a week or so now so they had quite a night! I kept it low key with Tonyeong coming up but was fun to catch up with everyone! But man the Oceania athletes know how to party! I don't think i could ever keep up!

The plan now is to recover and then back off a bit on the intensity for a few weeks so I don't peak to early. I am coming into good form now but want to delay it a bit longer. (ok thats shauns thinking but i agree!!)

Hopefully I can pull together a few pictures from the last 2 weekends.
