Timex and Ironman have long had successful marketing partnership, but for most of the last few years if triathletes wanted a watch with GPS functionality the Garmin was the go to brand.
Why? The reason was simple.
Unlike Garmin, the Timex Body Link GPS sensor was a separate unit from the watch which meant that you had to have three bits of kit to really take full advantage of the Timex.
You needed the GPS sensor, the hearth rate monitor body strap, and of course the watch itself.
But that has all changed now with the introduction of the new Timex Ironman Global Trainer GPS Sport Watch.
Just like the Garmin the Timex now comes with the critical GPS function that tells you your distance and pace and of course a lot more all built into the watch.
And unlike the Garmin you can purchase the Timex for only $275 without the heart rate monitor strap or $325 with the heart rate monitor at REI HERE .
What do we think? Timesx sent us one to test this week and here's our first look/test video of the newest Timex GPS watch.
