Two sisters with a passion for sports combined their interests to create a sports reference application for the Apple iPhone. Kat D’Angelo of Boulder, CO and Anne D’Angelo of Mountain View, CA started working on the app earlier this year with developers from Qantor Digital Entertainment LLC.

The app, “iSportsFan”, allows users to learn basic facts and fun trivia about top U.S. sports. iSportsFan includes all the major U.S. sports, baseball, basketball, cycling, football, golf, hockey, soccer, tennis, and even triathlon. This reference app provides:

The lingo, top players, teams, and a description on how to play.

The latest fun facts about each sport in a simple and easy format.

There is even an Ice Breaker button to select a fun fact and share as a trivia question.
“The idea behind the app was to give people quick sports facts before an interview, first date or party chatter, imagine going on your first date and knowing basic football facts before heading out to the game,” said Anne D’Angelo.

The D’Angelo sisters are targeting their app to those who want to know more about the top sports, and learn fun facts about various sports. For example, “In football, how many points was a touchdown worth in 1911? Five. That’s as opposed to the current six points for a touchdown these days, adjusted for inflation.”

Kat DAngelo, an avid triathlete who has competed in five Ironman triathlons wanted to share information on her sport as well as other sports. "I' m always being asked various questions on cycling and triathlons, and this app was a perfect opportunity to share my knowledge of the lingo and facts."

They plan on releasing new updates each month with additional sports and new fun facts. Also, anyone can go to the website with their own fun facts and they will be reviewed and could be added to new versions of the app.

iSportsFan is available today on the Apple App Store for $0.99.
