Colorado Governor Bill Ritter crashed his bike today and broke several ribs after colliding with another cyclist his spokesmen said.
The Colorado Governor is an avid cyclist, and he has been meeting with seven time Tour de France Champion Lance Armstrong about potentially bringing back a stage race to the state of Colorado similar to the old Coors Classic race.
"Ritter was taken to Denver Health Medical Center. His condition
wasn't immediately available, but his spokesman, Evan Dreyer, said the
governor was in good spirits, laughing and joking with hospital staff
and his wife, Jeannie.
The other cyclist had minor injuries and wasn't taken to a hospital, Dreyer said.
Ritter was in a group of four cyclists when the accident occurred shortly after 6 a.m."
