Champions Triathlon - Quick Race Report and Race Review

Quick report and race review. Maybe more to follow soon...I'm not known for being short of words.
2nd Overall. Andrew 'I can bike as fast as Chris Lieto' Yoder was 1st. James Cotter was 3rd. 2:02:mid was my time.
Swim. Very rough and choppy and wind blown...and seemed to be long. No wetsuits. I felt flat and didn't feel like I 'had it' on the swim. Freakin' 25 minutes or something. 70 or so seconds down starting the bike from Andrew...not good!
Bike. Very windy and tough. I got better as the ride went on. Probably due to the fatigue in the legs. Seems to take longer to get going. Rode 2.5 minutes slower than Chris Lieto Jr. Right about 61 minutes.
Run. Off road. Wore fast shoes...thanks Rogue. I felt good and nailed this one. 35:07 or so. Of course it was accurate...supposedly GPS'd 2-3x the night before. Made up some time and had the fastest run of the day.
Race Positives. Good venue. Prize money for pros. Good post race party. Good course that was honest and different from most Central Texas courses. Had some good sponsors. For a first year event, I thought that they did a good job.
Race 'Negatives'. Some run course issues with some of the age groupers and not having volunteers at key points...easy fix. Can't control the level of Lake Travis. Not a huge amount of pre-race publicity...not a lot of regional folks knew about it...Trifind.com and other city shop and club websites for future marketing.
That's it. Things are moving in the right direction in this phase of training. Next up...maybe the Rookie and definitely 70.3 Florida.
