It is a new year. Everyone is posting about new sponsors, resolutions, etc. so I thought that I would join the fray...though join the fray seems to show up as "join the fight or argument" when typed in to Google. So, that is not exactly what I mean, but I think you get the jist.
2010 will see a few changes for Brandon Marsh, and Amy too for that matter. Let's see...
January 20 will be my last day at the TCEQ working in the Public Drinking Water section. It has been a really good term there. Short, but good. For anyone who gets a little peeved at the seemingly long time it takes to push things through the state and who gets a little peeved at all the red tape...I feel your pain. But, if you saw the sheer volume of stuff that gets sent in, the quality of (or lack of many times) some of the submittals...you would understand why sometimes it takes longer than it seems like it should to get things pushed through.
Probably the biggest change will be that I will be racing (Amy too!) as part of Team The Bike Boutique (Team TBB) in 2010...and hopefully beyond. Team TBB is a triathlon team comprised of triathletes from around the globe and coached by Brett Sutton. It came as a bit of a surprise, but when Amy and I found that it might be a possibility, we saw it as an opportunity to take a step to the next level of racing. It is also a risk of sorts. Leaving the comfort of regular employment, turning over the reins to a coach for the first time pretty much ever, but they were also willing to take a risk on a 35-year old triathlete, so why not?!
I've posted already about our coaching, and we will continue to coach locally through Rogue as well as a couple of online coaching options that should fit a variety of budgets. I've also been posting that our new Team-Marsh website will be up soon...and it will this time, REALLY. We'll have info about our programs there.
So stay tuned. I'll post a link to the new blog and the new website soon enough. Probably another post or two and then you'll have to update your bookmarks because this blog will probably become fairly 'stale'...kind of brings a tear to my eye after 4+ years of blogging here!! I might cross post every now and then, but that can be a bit of a pain!!
