The South African Athlete became the 800-meter world champion last year and almost immediately sparked a gender controversy with many in the sport questioning her gender.
Today the world governing body of running (the IAAF) released as statement saying, "The process initiated in 2009 in the case of Caster Semenya has now been

under dispute after she dominated 800-meter world champion last year.
The statement went on to say:
"The IAAF accepts the conclusion of a panel of medical experts that she
can compete with immediate effect."
However the conclusion of that panel of experts remains confidential, and the IAAF said it would make no further statements.
"I am thrilled to enter the global athletics arena once again and look
forward to competing with all the disputes behind me." Semenya said following the decision.
It also remains unclear if Semenya underwent any medical procedure to allow her to continue racing.
