
Australian Joe Gambles went well under four hours at the Vineman 70.3 triathlon to win the race in a new course record of 3:49:1.
On the women's side of the race it was another Aussie, Pip Taylor, who took the top podium position over recent Ironman Coeur d’Alene winner Tyler Stewart.
"Another day of frustration -- extreme dizziness that has plagued me at all 70.3 this year. Need a complete work up," wrote defending Ironman 70.3 World Champion Joanna Zeiger on twitter.
Ironman Champ Graig Alexander stayed at the front of the pack until gastrointestinal problems hit on the run part of the race.
