2009 Year in Review and Looking Forward to 2010...Part Deux

Posted Dec 22 2009 12:00am
So, I'm going to squeeze in one or two more posts before the ball drops on NYC and 2009 rolls into 2010.

2010 Races are still TBD, but the focus will remain on the 70.3 and dare I say IM distance. Tentatively...

March will have Champions Triathlon here in Austin;
April will have Lonestar Triathlon in Galveston;
May is largely TBD, but may have the Rev3 or maybe Memphis in May Olympic Distance in there, CapTex is TBD based on the June/July Schedule;
June will likely be Boise or Rev3 or Kansas and probably Buffalo Springs;
July for me will likely be IM Lake Placid;
August and forward is To Be Determined.

As we look to 2010, we have a couple of new things on the horizon. I've kept this blog up for the past 4+ years. It started as a way to kind of just document and share my training and racing experience. It mostly remained as a look into some training, racing, nutrition, and general triathlon info as I saw fit. This will likely be the next to last post before I switch over to a new blog. We have a new website in progress at It will have all the standard pro triathlete website, blog, schedule, results sections but will initially focus on our coaching programs that will have a few price points for everyone, some of the articles that I've written for various publications, some tip sheets, etc as well. Highlights:

- Personal coaching that is TBD as we do not anticipate taking any new clients until about April, maybe earlier, but there are a few things to work out and get done between now and then and taking care of existing clients and such is the focus;
- 70.3 and IM training plans that will have little customization, but have been developed over the last 3 years of coaching athletes to successful IM and 70.3 races. These will be at a good price point and will include some feedback and communication;
- Capital of Texas 8 week program through Rogue Running that starts April 5. If you are coming off of a marathon or other run focus and are swimming, biking, and running a couple of times each, this is an ideal program for you. 4 coached sessions each week and a schedule and forum access;
- Triathlon focused swim workouts;
- Clinics;

I think that I'm going to leave this one up because hopefully there is a lot of good information on it. At least, after you keep something up for 5 or so years, you HOPE that you have written something that finds usefulness for at least one person. But, look for our new website to come shortly after the new year and we hope that it will be a resource as well. Happy Holidays.
