On the women' s side of the race it was ulia Arkhipova, 25, of Kyrgyzstan who won the race with an official
time of 2:32:09, which was fast enough to smash the previous record of 2:35:45 at Baltimore.

Alphonce Yatich of Kenya won the 2009 Baltimore Marathon today with a time of 2:14:04.
This was the 25-year-olds first marathon win.
