20-year-old Brit becomes perhaps youngest competitor ever to win an Ironman triathlon

Posted Aug 04 2009 5:28pm

Philip-Graves Philip Graves may be the youngest competitor to ever win an Ironman triathlon race. The 20-year-old Brit won Ironman UK in a time of 8:45:52.

Graves, who won Ironman UK 70.3 earlier this year, had a tough race with Stephen Bayliss, but at the end of the day he beat him on the marathon to win the race.

For third time in a row Bella Bayliss of Scotland won Ironman UK with a time of 9:34:00. She blazed to the lead with a fast bike split of 5:26:17 to take the lead and eventually the race over second place finisher Abigail Bayley.
