I am disabled with RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) for several years now. It is a relatively unknown neurological condition that effects my entire sympathetic nervous system.  It is chronic, progressive and incureable. In addition, I have neuropathy, several inoperable back issues and other health problems I deal with on a daily basis.

Goals I am Working On:   Goal #1: I am improving my quality of life. One of the ways I am accomplishing this is by learning to manage my pain better and in more creative ways.  Goal #2: Everyday I try to to make someone else's day better or support them with their chronic pain issues.

I have learned to live one day at at time and so far it has worked for me.  I will not let my diseases/conditions control my life. I refuse to be influanced by people with negative attitudes. I am responsible for my life. I do not blame others, hold resentments or waste time dwelling on what might have been.

My first thought in the morning is not  "poor me, I hurt".  It is thank you GOD for another wonderful day.  I also know in my heart today is going to be better than yesterday  because I am going to make it that way. Keeping that positive attitude is what makes it possible for me to accomplish the goals I have set for myself.

Yes, I am in pain 24 hours a day. The pain is hot, burning and never lets up. I am also in a wheelchair, I only have the use of one hand and at times am unable to speak clearly. But these are symptoms of my disease, they do not define me.

They make me stronger, work harder and even more determined to someday walk again, unaided, and do all the things I can to enjoy  life with my family.
