Tennis as a Cardio Workout

Posted by Kristen D.

I'm all about cardio, but tend to find the treadmill and bike at the gym kind of monotanous. While I'm not the greatest tennis player, I love going out and hitting balls with my friends, so I plan to take a Cardio Tennis class (or two, or three, or more) this summer. Everyone from begineers to tennis experts can participate. it's more about getting a good workout than perfecting your game. You can find places that offer the program at CardioTennis.com, and I'll keep you posted about my experience.

This is fantastic! I just looked up the information and it turns out there are several locations in LA to do this (the Los Angeles Tennis Club and Studio City Golf and Tennis, to name a few). I just played some tennis with my boyfriend and since he's so much better than I am, we ended up just hitting the ball back and forth instead of playing a competitive game. It was such a workout and so much fun, so I imagine this would be similar. Let us know how it goes - and I might see you there!
I'm glad you found my posting interesting. The program is available all over the country, so even if you travel for work or pleasue you can still hit the courts for a great workout. Unfortunately, my schedule has been real busy for the past few weeks, so I haven't made a class yet. But it's just slowed down big time, so I'll keep you posted when I go to one and tell you about it.
I would like to try it. Tennis is one of those sports that seems to take a long time to get good enough to actually enjoy the game! The class would be a great way to have fun without the pressure of being a good player.
