Thai Chi for old age

Posted by Teresa J.

To keep pensioners healthy and active, a program was set up for them. Tai Chi is one of the exercise "samplers" included in the program. Healthy eating, social events, and pampering (beauty) are part of the program as well. The program sounds like an excellent idea to me; it'll give pensioners lots of activities (I wish there were something in my area for my age group!) to do and keep them healthy. As we all know, preventing illness with good health is much more sensible than living in nations of people who rely on medical care to solve their problems. Keeping fit in old age is just as important as living healthfully in youth.

This sounds like a great program. I'd really like to learn tai chi more but I have so much on my plate already. It's also hard to find tai chi classes compared to yoga classes. It'd be really fantastic if someone would combine tai chi with yoga and we could have tai chi classes at our yoga studios.
I have never tried tai chi, but it sounds amazing. This program is really cool as well. Getting pensioners active is so important.
Tai chi is a beautiful activity. I think that aside from helping prevent illness, it's very similar to meditation in that it helps you slow down and be aware of your space, from moment to moment. This is a soothing, therapeutic practice in so many ways and hopefully, it gets the same coverage and attention that yoga's enjoyed so much in the past decades.
