My Arms. They Be Killing Me. Never Mind My Chest.

Who knew a little trip to the gym followed up with a little swimming good cause so much pain?  So with each visit to the gym I've been inching myself up in the amount of weights and how far I push myself.  As I said the other day not looking to get all buffed up which I couldn't even if I tried but I am trying to get stronger.  With that said swimming tonight was tough.  My arms and my chest were tight and sore during the workout.  After about 80 minutes I called it a nite and got out right before the end of workout.

400 Pull (100 w/o paddles / 200 with paddles / 100 w/o)

Then we did a bit of a kick set which I did my best to avoid.  Really even my legs were telling me to give it a rest.  I think it was to be 4x75's.  The first one I did a 50 and got out to pee.  Then waited for the lane to finish the 2nd one.  Then I went last and goofed off for one of the 75's.  Finished up by only doing a 25 of the last one.  So I did a 150 out of a 300 I guess. (150/550)

Then we did 3x100's (50 drill / 50 swim) (300/850)

Tonight's workout was fun solely due to my lane mates.  One of them is fast but he's so carefree about workouts and he enjoys goofing off as much as I do.  The other guy was bumped up from the medium lane and tried his best but got out about mid way into the main set.  Once again two laid back guys and I.  So needless to say when the coach didn't give us an interval we really took advantage of her kindness.  And then later when given a choice between two intervals it was easy for us to decide on the slower interval.  Even with that later on I was hurting.

Main Set:

400 Pull (no interval) (400)

3x150's (no interval) First 50 just count your strokes per lap.  5th Lap -1 stroke.  6th lap -2 Strokes.  7th Lap - 3 and the last lap -2.  Mind you always the - was from the original count.  (450/850)

8x100's on 1:20 Pace.  (800/1650)

Two Rounds of 8x50's on 45. (800/2450/3300)

Then I did a 150 warm down. (150/3450)

3450 Yards.  Not bad.  I will be taking Friday off as a recovery day.  I sometimes swim Ea_sports_active_more_workouts in the morning or at night but feel I need the rest.  Mind you I may run or play EA Sports Active on the Wii.  But no swimming or weights. Speaking of EA Sports Active I'll be testing and playing EA Sports Active: More Workouts all next week (Goes on sale on Nov 17th.)  So stay tuned for a review sometime later next week. Also up on the calendar for next week is a non-swimming/fitness product launch event.  I'll post photos and such if I end up going.  So next week will be fun out of the pool week for me although I will be swimming but what I meant to say is that I have some fun non-swimming things planned.

After workout tonight it was pizza and beer as I caught up on some tv watching.  Well it's late 12:10am which is like the latest I've been up in ages.
