I'm Susie, 23. I've been married 3 years to Matt, 25. We have Oceana who is 2 1/2 and Joshua who was born 7 Jan 2008. Joshua had an encephalocele - a neural tube defect - that has left a hole in his skull. His brain grew out through the back of the skull into a membrane-covered sack. We thought it was repairable by surgery after birth, but at 36 weeks we were informed that he'd die soon after birth. He lived for 9 weeks and 4 days. He was promoted to Heaven the 15th of March 2008. We are expecting #3 in April 2009. This blog is about our family, our journey, and what God is doing through us and in us. We live in New Zealand, but are Americans by birth and by accent (me less than Matt on the latter). We were youth pastors with Beach Christian Centre. Now we work for Marine Reach Ministries full time, Youth With A Mission's mobile mercy ministry. Matt's with Mission Reach Teams and I'm in Communications. We're learning to take one day and one surprise and one catastrophe at a time. We love the Lord, and we want to serve Him with our lives - wherever, however, and whenever He sees fit.
