Sports psychologists have known for a long time that visualization and mind sculpting are very effective techniques for improving performance. You can use these same techniques everyday, right now! to plant and grow the changes you want to “see” in your life too.
HOW?
1. Define some area or issue in your life you want better or different.
2. Write out all the particulars of the outcome - how you want it be when it’s better: color, size, shape, amount, quality, place, space, etc.
3. Now, sit down and in your mind’s eye visualize what you want. See, feel, know it “as if” it already “is.”
Why does this work? It’s been working all your life! You’ve created the life you have now from all of the thoughts and beliefs, ideas and visualizations - images of and in your mind - that you’ve had — most of which were given to you by others and their needs, wishes, ideas, beliefs and fears.
Now, you can take control and move towards and into what you truly desire.
Warning: You will create a life you love - at the sacrifice, price tag and expense of saying no and bye-bye to what doesn’t work and what may have become a life-long way of life, called habits and patterns - they will want to stay alive and fight you at times.
4. Keep a note card of your overall desires in front of you all the time and visualize the outcome you want as often as you think of it.
It takes a while for some habits and thought patterns to shift, others move quite quickly.
