If there are topics of conversation that consistently upset you, avoid those topics! In a group, excuse yourself from the conversation.
Learn how to say no
Refuse to accept added responsibilities that would take you beyond your limits.
Minimize your to-dos
Put the "must dos" at the top of your list and reprioritize or remove the "nice to haves".
When things get too tense, leave your workplace and take a breather for a few minutes of solitude to think about how you feel.
Find a way to avoid or eliminate each source of stress. Turn off the TV, shop at a friendlier store, take a longer route home with less traffic.
