The Scoop on Tax Deductions for Charity Donations

Posted Sep 22 2008 11:06am

Do you deduct your charity donations correctly each year?

IRS says, “You may deduct charitable contributions of money
or property made to qualified organizations if you itemize your
              deductions.”
(IRS Publication 78)

I get questions often enough on my organizing jobs or in my workshops on organizing about this: “How much can I deduct?” “What is the ratio of income to deductions?” “What form does it go on?” etc.

I’m not a tax expert, so I found this great article from a tax guy online, and checked it out with my financial consultant who said it was correct, so I’m getting it to you.

You need to know this now while you are in the position to donate this year for this years taxes (which you won’t probably get around to dealing with until April 14th next year, right!? :-) )

Click here for the info you need now!
