The majestic purple herb lavender has been shown to have anti-depressant, anti-anxiety, and tonic qualities and to help overcome bronchial infections. I prefer to prepare a soothing lavender tea before doing something that will trigger my anxiety.
Lavender in tea by itself tends to taste a little soapy, so I add:
3 parts lavender
2 parts green tea
1 part basil and a touch of honey for a sedating, uplifting tea that tastes great.
Valerian root powder may also be added to the brew before bedtime to help naturally overcome insomnia.
