Stress Management: Are You Suffering From Dentist Phobia?

Dentist PhobiaIn all my years of working with entrepreneurs and solopreneurs dentist phobia seems to be one of the problem that can cost them a bundle.
You see avoiding the dentist is like only fixing you car after it breaks down on the highway. You know you need to do it, but you only take costly action when your back is against the wall
Life is not meant to be this difficult. There are many know myths that cause us to create this problem and I am about to share one of these myths with you that will reveal amazing insights into your dentist phobia.
Here’s the myth: Stress causes you to avoid going to the dentist

Wayne: This is very similar to the physical, is it not?

 Cecil: Yes, it is.

I was talking to one of my clients and she said, “Going to the dentist for me is like the gynaecologist.
He checks all over me.”

I said, “So what?”

She said, “He sees all my imperfections and I don’t particularly want to go there.”

We have this myth that when we go to the dentist, the dentist will check us out and see all of our imperfections.

I’ve noticed over the years that dentists have changed their technology. Now some of them say that the whole treatment is painless.

The technology in dentistry has improved tremendously. As far as I know, dentists are very efficient in what they do.

The challenge is then, “What stops you from wanting to go to the dentist?” There is no longer the excuse that it’s painful. The technology has shifted.

I can only agree with what this lady said. I have my imperfections and I don’t really want dentists to check out all of my imperfections. That seems to be the issue here.

The important thing about going to the dentist is if you have any gum diseases or oral or tongue cancer, the dentist can catch it early. What is does for you from a health perspective is to protect you from unwanted health challenges.

Seeing that we live longer, it’s very important that we know what health issues we have and get the appropriate help.

What is so exciting about these thoughts of dentist phobia is, that they can trigger you back to the way of achieving greater success, or revive a tired effort you may have abandoned, and inject it with new hope and energy.
