Stress at the movies

Posted by Swati S.

I went to the movies this weekend. It was meant to be a time to just relax and unwind, but instead, it turned out to be one of the most stressful time of the week. Here is what happened. First, we could not get the tickets to the movie we wanted to see. When we managed to get inside the hall, there was some confusion about the seats- and this led to some shouting and the use of a few words that should not have been used. Finally, the guy sitting next to us was really obnoxious, and kept on talking loudly throughout.

When I finally reached home, the chain of events got me thinking about the evening, and I felt that maybe, we take things too seriously. Everybody wants to be right all the time, and obviously, this leads to tensions. I am getting a bit philosophical, but I feel that to be able to enjoy a stress free and happy life, it is not important to be right all the time- maybe it is sufficient to just be, and let others be!

I am right with you sister! There is nothing that stresses me out more than the popcorn chewer - that person who chews like his life depends on it. And ruins the movie for everyone. But what can you do? I know - rent.
