Self-massage for a better sleep

I love getting a massage because I feel so relaxed and calm after it. I have started doing self-massage with aromatherapy oils before I go to bed. It is a very quick ritual. I take some oil in my hands and gently run them up and down my hands and legs in circular motions. I do not know if this is the right technique, but it really loosens me up so that I have a nice, deep sleep.

Self-massage is effective in so many different ways. It also boosts the circulatory system, helps up your collagen production, and is extremely relaxing, to boot. It's a huge part of Ayurvedic medicine, too, which believes that rubbing certain oils into the body can help to balance your system, depending on what is out of balance.
I sometimes sleep with a warm sock! My friend gave me one when I was pregnant. It's a tube sock filled with rice and when you heat it in the microwave, you get instant moist heat! Feels great on tense neck muscles.
