If you're a parent who's thinking of letting your infant share your bed, it might not be such a great idea, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians. While some parents think it might foster a closer, more loving relationship with their baby, in truth, it can be hazardous to your little one's health. Here are some possible risks:
1) You might suffocate the baby by rolling onto or next to it.
2) The baby faces the possibility of being trapped between the mattress and headboard, or between the mattress and wall.
3) The baby could get suffocated by sleeping face down on top of the mattress, pillow or blanket.
4) The baby could get strangled if its head is trapped in part of the headboard.
