That's actually a pretty ancient quote, from what I know of it--I think by a Taoist sage. :) Yes, I love the quote also. I've known a lot of people who focus so much of their anger and negative attention on people who've "done them wrong" that it eats them up inside and really makes them unpleasant people to be around. I can't imagine that they're very happy, either. My philosophy is just to forgive and let go--it seems counterproductive to dwell on personal vendettas.
That is extremely powerful...and so true. Can I ask what point she was making? By that, I mean, was she simply stating the fact or was she trying to warn someone that there's no point in wallowing in resentment? It can be hard to move on from emotions that strong but if one can let go, life is so much simpler and more peaceful!
What a powerful statement. I worked in the medical field for a number of years and have seen the effects of attitude on people's health. If you keep that kind of stuff bottled up it eats you up from the inside out.
