This is a day to relax. A day to appreciate the progress you’ve made. A day to look back and see there was a day you were stalled in your healing and now, for however long you’ve been a part of the workshop… you’re workin’ it!
That’s PROGRESS. Just being here and reading this post is progress compared to where you were not so long ago.
As you move through the recovery journey it’s very important, every once in a while, to thank yourself for making the effort. Give yourself a reward today for sticking to the program, for toughing it out, for getting up and getting online and seeking help, support and relief.
Instead of working it go out with friends, visit with family, take yourself to the movies or out for a cup of coffee in your favorite cafe — take yourself away from the struggle; for just one day give yourself time off for good behavior. The past will still be here when you come back. The present will still be waiting. The future will still loom ahead waiting for you to catch up.
What do you love to do? Find a way to do it today. Making time and finding ways for doing what you enjoy is just as important, necessary and healing as working through your issues piece by piece.
So go, get out of the house, offline and jump into the universe. A life awaits you. Go test out living it!
