5 Tips to sleep better when you are stressed.

A good night’s rest can do wonders to our physical and mental health. But it is not easy, especially if you are stressed. Try these tips to sleep better.

Avoid caffeine, even in the second half of the day, as it stays in the system for up to 12 hours.

Try eating a snack that is rich in carbohydrates. Many people find that it helps them to sleep better.

Try having a glass of warm milk before you sleep.

This is a handy tip. Go to bed only when you begin to feel sleepy. If you are not, then do something that makes you sleepy and then go to bed.

I know it's hard to tie up loose ends before going to sleep, and just the thought of it can make your mind go into overdrive, but one way I do this is making sure that I'm not mad at my partner before I go to sleep. If I'm upset, I try to resolve it--not necessarily by talking it out (which can open up another can of worms late at night) but by letting him know that I love him no matter what and going deep inside myself to a place of pure love and acceptance. I've found that if we get into arguments before bedtime, giving up the fight and tapping into that place of love can profoundly affect both of us. And it definitely makes for better sleep.
