Respect the Physique!

Posted Aug 26 08 4:36pm
My wife and I were flipping through the channels and we came across this show on VH1 called "The Pickup Artist." The premise is a group of inexperienced guys undergo training by a pickup artist to learn the ways of wooing women. So in this first episode we were watching, Mystery (the pickup guru) sends the guys into a nightclub without any training or gameplan to see how they fare in "the game."

needless to say, they all crashed and burned. then Mystery and his wingmen head into the club and have women pick them up (mostly Mystery) like crazy. my wife tells me, "I'm not impressed. Those guys did well cuz they looked and acted like they'd be wild in bed. The losers looked and acted like they had no balls."

what's this got to do with your physique? A lot actually. How you look and present yourself is how people treat you. When it comes to attracting women, women are hardwired (VERY hardwired) to be attracted to height (Mystery looked quite tall). All things being equal, an average looking guy who is tall will usually attract women more than a short guy with exceptionally attractive looks.

of course, unless you undergo that operation like Ethan Hawke did in "Gattaca," you can't do much about your height. BUT you can certainly change your physique.

In my experience and from what I have seen in others, most women really don't care as much about your physique, UNLESS you're one extreme or the other: fat or skinny. Most women are looking at other factors aside from physique: how safe and comfortable you make them, how you make them laugh, how confident you are, how you dress, etc.

But I find that 2 out of 10 women will also be highly attracted to a well-chiseled physique, so much so that they would casually or in an obvious manner touch your arm.

Don't underestimate the power of a powerful looking physique. Most women are not attracted to the buffed out strong man, but they definitely notice the V-taper (wide shoulders, muscular arms, trim waist).
