Research: Older men get boost in hormones through strength traini

Strength training boosts testosterone, growth hormone and cortisol, concludes a new study. "These hormonal responses may create an optimal environment for the metabolic process leading to improved muscular function following a strength endurance program," say Greek researchers in the International Journal of Sports Medicine. The study measured hormone levels in a group of men in their 60s, early 70s and early 20s who were put through a series of strength endurance resistance exercises.
