hi - have a problem with the back of my lower leg. It aches really badly if I don't exercise using weights on my lower legs i.e

I'm not sure I've categorised this right under strength training.  But I keep wondering if I am addicted to the gym, but when I stop I get awful ache in my legs that makes me stressed beyond belief and sweaty etc.  If I go to gym I'm ok.  But I don't want to constantly have to go to the gym, it would be nice to get away for a weekend without having to go to the gym.  So far no one has been able to explain what this could be.  The ache is particularly bad where the lower leg muscle inserts in to knee
