Hey Ladies, Stop Forgetting To Train Your Upper Body

We all have body parts we try to target more than others but sometimes we just don’t train outside of these parts. When it comes to women and lifting, we often neglect working upper body.
It isn’t unusual to see women doing walking lunges, leg curls, and squats but it is rare to see them do more than just a few bicep curls when it comes to upper body.
I think it is because we fear the idea of getting big bulky shoulders and a broad chest. Well, ladies but your mind to ease. It just isn’t in your genetic makeup to look like a football player. But on the other side of the argument, it is strange looking to see a women with great, toned legs and flabby arms.
Even if you are thin up top that doesn’t equal symmetry. To look your best you really need to target all the muscle groups. Total body workouts that utilize many multi-joint moves are the best because on top of helping create definition you also burn more calories. More calories, means less fat. Multi-joint means just like it sounds, more than one joint is being moved during the exercise. You will also work more muscles than if you were doing isolated moves on the machines.
So what are some moves you can do that will fit as multi-joint and give great results?
Squat with a military press
Squat with a curl
Bent over row
The list can go on and on but these are a few great moves that you may want to thing about adding to your workouts. If you find that you are one of the many women that leave out your arms, shoulders, chest and/or back then it is time to change that today.
Head to the gym and try out a few of these moves. After a few weeks you will look slimmer and more toned. But remember, there is no threat of looking like a man.
And as a side note, men aren’t perfect either. They are normally the opposite with training choices and neglect the lower body.
