Health knowledge made personal
I am lucky to be able to work at a beautiful office building in a bustling area of downtown Minneapolis; but to remain mentally healthy, I also feel itâ??s necessary for me to be outdoors for at least a few moments every day. I am blessed to work with (and for) wonderfully brilliant people who are eager, excited, and energetic; yet as an introvert, I also feel a strong pull to spend time alone in silent meditation each morning. I am grateful for all of the modern-day conveniences at my disposal that truly simplify my life (such as a car, computer, washing machine, etcâ?¦); however, after a period of being sedentary, I feel compelled to move.
All of this is to say that I accept and appreciate the â??modern lifeâ?? I have been given to live; and at the same time, I have felt drawn to explore older, simpler paths of living, too.
So, In May 2010 I enrolled in a Yoga Teacher Training program. This blog is a chronicle of my progression through the year long instruction, recapping what I learn both on the yoga mat and off. I welcome you to accompany me through this journey!
