Your husband could be bothered that his closet is overfilled with clothes that he doesn’t want and doesn’t wear anymore. He wishes he could just get rid of the clothes and chew through the hangers so he could have some space and order in his closet, and as an extension, his life.
Go through his closet with him and remove anything he hasn’t worn in the past 6 months and anything that doesn’t fit and donate them to a thrift store. If you afford top of the line great, if not, shop around. The stores have the sales on now so pick up clothes that fit and that he really wants.
I got a two piece suit and two sport coats for $3 at a Thrift store. They were a little too big so I took them to a tailor and had them adjusted. So for $60 bucks and a hair cut I’m a new man.
Sometimes when you feel your life is out of control, taking care of one small space like a closet can have a great impact. So keep the momentum going and look around your house for another area to de-clutter and take control of. Don’t try to do everything in one afternoon because you’ll just burn yourself out. Take the books off one shelf, dust the shelf and put back just the books you want to keep and put the others in a bag and put the bag in your car. The next time a charity is looking for donations for a book drive, drop off the bag.
That’s it. Just one shelf and one small space at a time every day and you’ll be amazed in a month’s time. Remember to reward yourselves each time with a couple glasses of wine then make love for 3 hours, hopefully with each other.
