Zola retains Hammers faith

West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola has backed his squad to improve and silence their doubters following Sunday's 2-1 defeat at home to Everton. Despite taking the lead at Upton Park through a Tony Hibbert own goal, the Hammers slipped back into the relegation zone after a sixth defeat of a disappointing season. "It is a big question mark for me, how can we lose a game like that," said Zola. "We have to analyse the problems first and find solutions. "I felt the players gave everything. Their attitude and their commitment was very good. "But we have to find out straight away what is not working well, because it is not doing us any favours." West Ham's next game is a ED Hardy Series meeting with fellow Premier League strugglers Hull City after the international break. "I am not worried because I think we can certainly improve the situation," added Zola. "We will find the solutions and we will Christian Audigier find them as quickly as possible. I am confident and I trust the players." Manager David Moyes admitted that Everton are lacking quality but hailed their resilience following Sunday's 2-1 win at West Ham United. The injury-ravaged Toffees had not won any of their last seven games in all competitions prior to the trip to Upton Park, but left with all three points following goals from Louis Saha and Dan Gosling. "We have not played that well, so we cannot ask Affliction for any more," said Moyes. "The key is always to find a winning formula - and we found one - but we need to play better than we have done. "At the moment, we are lacking just a bit of quality. "October was a tough month, with probably too many matches for the same group of players.
