This may not be the most intriguing match up on Friday, but the Hornets visiting the Wizards in Washington should make for a solid game.
The Washington Wizards are improved this season, with much thanks to their defensive play. The Wizards believe it or not have the sixth ranked scoring defense in the league, allowing just 95 points per game on average. Washington’s offense hasn’t done much to help out their defense, but like I’ve said before in previous articles, this team is honestly an offensive playmaker or two away from being respectable.
The New Orleans Hornets are essentially in the same boat as the Wizards. The Hornets are a bit more of a balanced team however, allowing an average of 98 points per game and scoring an average of 94.5. The Hornets are also improved from a year ago, with Davis being a major reason for that change. The Hornets will need to continue to work the draft and do well in Free Agency, but like the Wizards, the Hornets are on the way up…at least for now.
The Wizards are a solid 36-25-2 against the spread this season, and at home, Washington is 19-13-1 against the number. The Hornets are 33-32 against the number on the year, and when playing on the road, the Hornets are 19-14 against the spread.
The line is still not out for this one. Once the line is released I will update this article with my free pick, so please check here and on social media for updates.
