Bowling Ball Weight?

I went bowling last night and I noticed that some people opt for heavier balls to knock more pins down, I choose a really light ball to improve accuracy (I'm not very strong), but I realize then I don't pack as much punch. Anyone have any thoughts on this debate? I am curious about other people's strategies.
