Snowboarding Tips - Terms

Base. Base is the bottom side of the board that touches the snow when you ride.
Bevel. Bevel is the degree of angle to which the edge of a snowboard are tuned.
Bindings. The bidings attach your boots to the board.
Camber. Camber is the amount of space beneath the center of a snowboard when it lays on a flat surface with its weight resting on the nose and tail.
Fakie. Fakie is the term used to describe riding backwards, in the opposite of your normal stance.
Flex. Flex describes the stiffness of the snowboard. Flex determines how the board will go into the turns.
Heel edge. The heel edge (you guessed it) is the side of the board where your heels are.
Nose. Nose - the nose is the end that usually points downhill
Tail. Tail - the tail is the end that usually points uphill
Toe edge. The toe edge is the side of the board where your toes are (imagine that!)
