Why is my mouth dried out when I wake up? The same thing happens with my eyes.

Posted by TheGreatAus

27 years old, healthy, no diabetes (that I know of), I drink plenty of water and juices every day, and generally make my own food as opposed to buying tv dinners.   I work out 3-4 times a week.  Before a few months ago, I never had this problem, I am not certain as to what brought this on.  I generally drink a glass of water or two before bed, but even that has not helped me since this started

Some medications can cause dry mouth, as can smoking and using mouth wash. Mouth breathing from sleeping in a different position can dry your mouth.

Check with a pharmacist for an OTC medication for your throat and eye drops that you could use.

The air in your bedroom can also be overly dry especially if you use electric heating. Try using a humidifier in your bedroom.
