Can Macular edema scarring cause reduced blue light reception?

Posted by Brother.Daryle

I am being treated for Narcolepsy/Ideopathic Hypersomnia. My neurologist mentioned blue light therapy as a future treatment. A couple years ago I had a cystoid macular edema in one eye, and 5 years before I had one in the other eye. Can the scarrig of the macula cause lower levels of blue spectrum light reception and therefore excessive daytime somnolence? Is there a procedure to fix the scarring? Or would blue light therapy be effective to turn off melatonin production?
