what is the best remedy for lichen amyloidosis

I have that too, 2 patches on each arm, near the biceps brachii and extensor forearm. I have had them for almost 26 years. It is a form of PLCA - primary localized cutaneous amyloidosis. I suggest you read up on LA on emedicine.medscape.com . They have the most useful information on LA in my opinion. However, the key thing to take away from LA sites is that science has been frustrated in finding a great treatment for it. From what I've read, my opinion leads me to wonder if SAP is the enemy. If your areas itch, see a dermatologist for something to relieve that - however, it won't cure the LA. I've been reading up on an Alzheimers treatment from Glaxo called CPHPC which can remove SAP from the blood, if I'm reading the various webpages correctly. Hopefully, CPHPC or something else can help us. CPHPC seems to be under study and trials(?)

Ok, a follow-up post to my earlier one. From what I've read, scientists in London hope to start trials for a CPHPC-with-antibody combination before March 2011. The main guy is Professor Mark Pepys. I'm not sure if his focus is systemic amyloidosis or any/all types of amyloidosis, but my gut feeling says there's hope on the horizon.
