Rainbow Green Phase 1 Candida Cleanse Update – Day 13
Posted May 20 2010 9:22pm
As you can see I haven’t been updating you as much on this cleanse, and that’s partially because this is the third big cleanse of mine this year so I feel like I’ve bored you already with my cleansing stories. It’s also because in comparison to the Arise And Shine detox, I don’t actually feel like I’m cleansing this time at all. Apart from the occasional frustration with not being able to eat certain foods (such as fruits, cashews, tamari and loads of carrots ..I miss you!!) it’s all been a little too easy.
I guess the hardest part has been making enough fun food, because for me food really needs to taste good and be a bit of a novelty. The best dishes I’ve made so far have been a coconut macadamia porridge, and a “roast” tomato soup. Both were quite simple to make, only contained a few basic ingredients, were phase 1 friendly and I’ll absolutely make them again.
I’ve also been saved by nut mylks with cacao and xylitol. The first thing I make in the morning is a big mug of warmed up nut mylk cacao. I actually look forward to it. And it’s perfect at this time of the year because it’s getting cold in Brisbane.
I’ll be blogging a lot more over the next few weeks about my relationship to food. This cleanse has been a huge journey of self discovery for me so far. I was even thinking today that I could write on a book on my experiences over the last couple of years titled “My Journey To Self Discovery Through Food”. Honestly, my life feels like that sometimes!!!
