Please help identify rash on arm

Posted by SumTuck

Good Afternoon, All!

I have a rash on my arm that is starting to concern me.  It has come and gone over the last 9 months or so.  When it is gone there is a light faded spot on my arm where the rash was.  Then occasionally it comes back.  It does not itch and ringworm cream does not work.

Any ideas?

I would make an appointment with  a dermatologist or at the very least see a pharmacist.
You are getting off easy.  I have a rash on both arms that is quite extensive.  When it first appeared it itched and was painful.   It still itches at times and I have little sores all over my arms.  It has spread to under my eyes and to my chest.  I have had the rash with both Lovastatin and Simvastatin.  The first rash (Lovastatin) lasted months and left marks.  My current rash (triggered by Simvastatin) is still going strong.  Two courses of oral Prednisone and topical cortisone cream have done little or nothing to cure the rash.  When I went to the doctors office there was a question as to whether or not I was having a "dermatology emergency" and they made me an immediate appointment with a dermatologist.  I should also note that I have had terrible fatigue and GI symptoms as well.  So good luck!
