For years the South Florida woman thought about cosmetic surgery and finally in December put down $3,500 for a breast augmentation and a breast lift. Attracted by their ads, she went to the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery. But once she left the office, Spriggs claims the surgery center tried to pull a fast one. Spriggs got a call that told her the price was actually $2,000 more than what she had already paid. Spriggs said she never got her money back even though she requested a refund and is is now out $3,500. A search turned up a total of 19 complaints with the Better Business Bureau against the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery.
We have discussed the methods people use to choose a plastic surgeon. Advertising is probably the worst method. Anybody can buy an ad.
People need to take the time to read the fine print. The center could have made an honest mistake and charged too little. $3500 for a breast lift and implants is really cheap. But every center has its own refund policy. Most surgeons give a refund minus a deposit, but this center may not give refunds ever. We have discussed checking out your plastic surgeon online before as well. The Better Business Bureau had had complaints already. Maybe this center is not run by a surgeon which is another red flag in my opinion.
