Lily Allen is being treated in hospital for septicaemia just days after miscarrying a baby for the second time. The singer is said to be “responding well” to treatment for the bacterial infection of the blood after being taken to hospital in an ambulance.
This is probably related to the miscarriage. She probably needs a D & C in which the placenta and other products of conception are cleaned out (If she didn’t have it after the miscarriage.) They can get infected and serve as a source for this sepsis, a blood borne infection. The treatment for sepsis is antibiotics, fluids and removal of the source. Best wishes to her as she recovers from this awful week.
