i have red raised lumps on my hand an wrist they are bright red and hot to the touch what are they?

there is 1 lump on the back of my hand and 1 just below my wrist its very hot an tender they just popped up today my mother says its nothing but it hurts to lift my daughter with this hand please tell me what it can be and if i should go to the doctors?
