erythromycin benzoyl peroxide topical gel

My doctor gave me some cream for my acne it is called erythromycin benzoyl peroxide topical gel and i also use the neutrogena orange soap bar and idk if it is both of them put together that is causing my face to dry out or the gel. I got this stuff about a week ago nd i have googled this stuff it says may cause dryness or peeling but idk if mine is severe or not because it's beginging to tighten up my skin and now its kinda red nd it hurts to open my mouth or smile cause thats where it is on my cheeks by my mouth its helping my acne but just drying it out my dad tells me that its only because my skin hasnt gotten use it yet but i still just dont know what should i do keep using it or tell my doctor
