Dr Di Breast Implant Patient Comment:

Hi Dr Di just wanted to drop you a note to let you know I just had a baby and………I’m able to breastfeed successfully with no problem yaaay! I wasn’t sure and kept putting off emailing you! Now let’s hope it doesn’t destroy my tatas if so will see you in about a year!!

The issue of whether or not breast implants (particularly those placed through the periareolar incision) decrease a woman’s potential to breast feed later has been debated for years. Saline implants can easily be placed through a small incision without having to dissect much. The ladies I have operated using this incision who later reported ease with breastfeeding were all saline implant patients. There are ways to do the surgery that may help preserve breastfeeding for those so interested.

Best Regards,

John Di Saia MD
