The new year brings the inevitable resolutions, but it lends itself perfectly to detoxing, especially after over-indulging during the holidays. I generally try and maintain a healthy diet, and am a vegetarian, so I won't be giving up any particular foods. I feel I've already 'de-bloated' from Christmas so instead I am focusing on eating smaller portions overall, including more raw vegetables, drinking more herbal teas and no alcohol. One of the products I will be using is the Innocent Face Scrub made by Innocent Oils here in England. This scrub is great for removing impurities with French Green Clay from Argiletz, France which 100% natural, sun-dried and chemical free. It also contains organic colloidal oats which bind with the clay and water to remove toxins from the skin at the same time as providing a protective layer that moisturises and softens the skin. Other ingredients are ground almonds, lavender, chamomile & palmarosa essential oils. This mask can be mixed with water or a bit of hemp oil for a truly moisturising experience.
Hemp Seed Oil is also on my list as it is full of goodness, containing anti-oxidants, carotene, phyto-sterols, phospholipids, as well as a number of minerals including calcium, magnesium, sulphur, potassium, iron, zinc. Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, D, and E. It is also one of nature's most sustainable crops and actually benefits the ground its grown on, and every part of the plant can be put to good use. So while I'm working to remove toxins, I will be adding vitamins and minerals to my skin, the largest organ of my body!!
