Are fan shaped fingernails which slope upwards towards the ends with small moons on thumb nails only, medically significant?

Dear Health Mavens Thank you for considering my query.  I feel like a bit of a hypochondriac but cant find info or help elsewhere.  I was told many years ago that the fan shape of my finger nails might be because my mother drank (alcohol) while pregnant with me and that I have mild FAS.  I did have leaning difficulties as a child despite a reasonably high IQ.  I did not crawl as a baby and was/am dyslexic.  My own doctor and Internet research reveal little apart from Eastern Medicine and Palmistry holding that people with fan shaped nails have been subjected to long term stress and are highly strung.  I do not reject this as I have some symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder such as hyper vigilance, exagerated startle response etc and growing up in a violent alcoholic home was often a stressful, but I am more interested in whether conventional Western Medicine has anything to say on the matter of fan shaped nails that slope upwards.  My nails have always been quite thin and break easily with fine vertical ridges.  The beds are much the same pink colour as my hands and the nails beyond the beds are white not yellow.  I am a post menopausal 53 year old female of French/Irish/English ancestory.  I look forward to your responses.  Please let me know if you need more info. Thank you. Carrie
